Stage Your Home Without Hiring a Professional
Recently, a client asked me what they could do to stage their home without having to pay a professional stager. Today I’ll share a few tips to help get your home show-ready without breaking the bank.
A key bit of advice is to declutter your home. If you have overstuffed bookshelves, take some of the books down and box them up. Also, pare down all the extra stuff you have lying around, and be sure to clear off your countertops and surfaces. Doing so will open up the space in your home and help it look neat and organized.
"Paint your front door a nice, bright color to boost your home’s curb appeal."
In terms of decor, make your beds before showings, and add in a few throw pillows for a pop of color. Try to neutralize your home in terms of personal effects; put your family photos in storage for now so that your buyers can imagine their own families living in the home.
Outside, trim up your landscaping and plant some nice flowers. Repainting your front door a nice, bright color is also a good idea since it’s one of the first things a buyer will see before walking into your home.
If you have any questions or would like further advice about staging on a budget, don’t hesitate to give us a call or send an email. We’d love to help you.
