It Might Be Time for a Home Inspection
Have you ever thought with why people do home inspections on properties they’re purchasing? Today we’ll quickly reiterate the purpose of an inspection and why they’re so important even if you don’t plan to sell your home.
Home inspections are always necessary because the seller can’t fully disclose everything wrong about a home. They probably haven’t been in the crawlspace or attic for a long time, so they may not be sure what’s going on there.
To help you, the buyer, understand what you’re looking to buy, we hire an inspection company to come into the home, look at all of its systems (including the crawlspace and attic), and give us the full picture of the home’s condition.
"Home inspections are necessary because the seller can’t fully disclose everything about a home. "
Even though I’m not thinking about selling my home, I have a home inspection done every couple of years just so that I know if my pipes are okay or if there are issues with the electrical wiring. More than just knowing, I also want to keep my family safe in the event that something critical needs to be fixed or replaced.
On my last inspection, I found that my shower pan was leaking and was able to address the problem immediately. The water had been dripping into the wood, which was deteriorating and could have encouraged mold growth and possibly even structural issues down the road.
If you need a recommendation for a home inspection company or you have any questions, don’t hesitate to give us a call or send an email. We’d love to hear from you.
